Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) Used Tire Program

Dear Valued Customer,
This is to advise you of the new Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) Used Tires Program.
At this time, Solideal Canada, along with many tire companies are in discussions with OTS personnel to clarify, understand and implement the regulations as outlined for Industrial solid, pneumatic and OTR tires. Based on the information provided by OTS, Solideal Canada is classified as a “Steward” & “Collector”, which means we are obligated to collect and remit stewardship fees to the government. The start date for the program has been set for September 1, 2009.
Solideal maintains a strong commitment to the environment. As Unitrac Tires, we were one of the first companies to introduce industrial tire recycling programs in Canada. In addition, working with our factories, we have expanded our Solideal Recycling Program (SRP).
We appreciate your patience during the introduction of the Ontario Tire Stewardship program. Please follow the link below to find a copy of an OTS letter introducing the program.

SOLIDEAL is proud to announce that its LifeMaster Over-the-Tire Rubber Track was named one of the top innovative products for the construction industry in 2008 & 2009.
Intermat Innovations Award 2009, one of the world's three biggest trade shows in France, recently released their nominee list of the industry’s foremost innovative products. According to Intermat, SOLIDEAL Lifemaster OTT “is the only adjustable and easy-to-fit rubber over-the-tire track” product that "offers a smooth ride and greater traction”, which "provides a guarantee of optimal productivity and versatility”.
Compact Equipment, a leading industry publication in the United States, recently reported that the SOLIDEAL LifeMaster Over-the-Tire track is the most innovative rubber track product of 2008. "It’s changing the world of skid steers”…"tracks last seemingly forever”… and "greatly reduced sidewall wear” are just a few of the positive comments made about the product in their article published in their December 2008 issue.
The Solideal LifeMaster Over-the-Tire track has been designed to accomplish three goals: improve the profitability of skid-steer loaders, ensure that work continues smoothly and safely and upgrade operator’s working conditions.
The latest model of Solideal LifeMaster Over-the-Tire track will be unveiled at the Intermat 2009 building and construction show.
Solideal has immediate availability for 10” tire machines and plans to release tracks for 12” tire machines later this year.

Solideal enhances the service to rubber track customers by upgrading its track selector to a new standard: one place to easily identify the construction, agricultural or Over the Tire rubber track that you need!
Since its introduction, solideal.com website has offered a track selector to help customers easily identify which rubber track they need to fit on each construction tracked machine such as mini excavators and compact tracked loaders (CTL).
This service is now upgraded to provide solutions for the full range of Solideal Rubber Tracks to include agricultural rubber tracks for tracked tractors and available Solideal OTT Over-the-Tire tracks for skidsteer loaders.
“Finding the exact track size for a machine is not always easy. Based on our customers’ requests we have developed a user friendly tool. It takes only three clicks to get the right information. CeMAT 2008: a great success for Solideal

CeMAT 2008 is the largest trade show for Material Handling in Europe. This year, attendance grew over 20% to a staggering 60,000 trade visitors from around the world.
Solideal exhibited in Hall 25 along with many other recognized forklift and tire manufacturers. CeMAT was the occasion of 2008 to showcase our Solideal brand industrial tires, construction tires, and wheels.
Among many star products presented on the booth were the new Hauler LT Port, specially designed for large forklifts operating in strenuous port applications and the Solideal SRGP, the first radial tire of Solideal for wheeled loaders and articulated dump trucks.
The newly designed Solideal booth drew a lot of attention from visitors throughout the week and we would like to thank everybody who stopped by to meet with the Solideal team.
Tire Management Program (TMP) a BIG Success

The Solideal Canada Tire Management Program (TMP) is a productivity enabling service. TMP saves our customer’s money by analyzing their tire usage patterns and tire expenditures in great detail. Essentially, TMP ensures that your labour and equipment is productive, limiting unnecessary downtime due to tire failures. TMP features regular, consistent monitoring of the tires in your customer’s lift truck fleet resulting in improved truck maintenance and fewer safety issues.
TMP is a PC based tire management software program that allows for in-depth monitoring and analysis of tire performance. In addition to reducing downtime, TMP Reports provide our customers with a tool to:
Identify problem areas
Analyze use by department
Budget for tire expenditures
Implement solutions that drive down costs
After successfully launching the TMP Program in January of this year, Solideal Canada is truly amazed not only with the growth of the program but also the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the customer base.

Solideal exhibited at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008: the largest trade show in North America of any industry in 2008 and this years most important equipment fair in the world.
More than 144,600 industry professionals from around the world attended CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 and IFPE 2008 during their five-day run March 11-15, 2008 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA. The show covered more than 2.28 million net square feet of exhibits (211,966 net square meters), taken by 2,182 exhibitors, and was 21 percent bigger than the last show, held in 2005.
Booth #366 was home to Solideal, showcasing Solideal tires, tracks and wheels in an impressive 12,000+ square feet of space. The booth included a large geometric white dome which quickly became known throughout the show as the “igloo in the desert”, numerous outdoor tire displays, and a large sand pit with equipment from different manufacturers demonstrating the ability of Solideal SolidAir tires and OTT tracks.
Over 70 members of the Solideal team from around the globe were flown in to attend Conexpo/ConAGG 2008. All were eager to see as many visitors as possible to help end-users find the perfect solution for their needs and share their expertise on Solideal products and applications.
Although the Solideal demo pit got a lot of attention, the real star of the show was Solideal’s new radial tire, the SRGP, which debuted at this show. The SRGP was designed to be one of the lowest vibration radial tires on the market, providing good riding comfort for the driver. Created with a long lasting compound, the superb and original design of the tire provides excellent traction and stability. The non-directional tread pattern of the SRGP is perfect for environments involving soft earth, mud, sand and gravel; and the unique tread-steps allow for self-cleaning and stone ejection. The SRGP will be available on a limited basis starting in May 2008.

Solideal Canada is proud to announce the opening of a new service centre in Montreal, Quebec. "This facility is brand new and in a great location to better serve our customers in Quebec," explained Bob Bulger, President of Solideal Canada. The new 13,000 sq/ft building is large enough to accommodate a full inventory of Material Handling Tires, an industrial tire Shop Press, Construction Tires, Rubber Tracks and all other ancillary products Solideal offers.
